A Regional Tribal Cultural Program was organised at the Mahila Imdad Committee Bhawan, Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh on 23 November 2012, which was attended by an audience of around 500.
The pre-lunch session started with an address on Preservation and Promotion of Tribal Folk Art and Culture by Ms. Madhuparna Sharma, Lecturer of D B College, Itanagar. Talks on Swamiji were rendered in Nyishi language and Adi language by Mrs. Doji. The famous Chicago address was rendered by Kumar Tadar Demo, a youth speaker of 12 years age. Tribal students from 18 schools participated. Tribal songs and dances of Nishi, Adi, Apatani, Idu Mishmi, Wancho, Tagin, Khampti, Nocte and Monpa were performed by the students of various schools. The audience was addressed by Swami Sumansanandaji Maharaj.
In the post-lunch session, Swami Vishwatmanandaji Maharaj addressed the audience with a speech on ‘Preservation and Promotion of Tribal Culture’. The audience was also addressed by Sri Moji Riba, Dr. Jorma Anya and Smt. Jarjum Ete. A documentary on preservation of tribal culture was also filmed for the audience.
