An International Seminar was organised on Education on the 12th and 13th of February 2011, in the Ashrama premises. Sri Kapil Sibal, the then Minister of Education of the Union Government inaugurated the event and spoke on the occasion.
The seminar was divided into three topics viz. Education for Enablement, Education for Knowledge and Education for Spirituality. Each topic was explored through a keynote address and a workshop.
Pravrajika Brahmaprana, Swami Vidyanathananda (Mahan Maharaj) and Swami Atmapriyananda delivered the respective keynote addresses while Sri V. Srinivas, Prof. Ramamurthy (U.S.A) and Swami Sarvapriyananda conducted the respective workshops.
There was also a panel discussion on Challenges and Opportunities in the present Education System in the post-lunch session of the first day. The Panellists were Swami Atmapriyananda, Vice-Chancellor, Vivekananda University, Prof. Dinesh Singh, Vice-Chancellor, University of Delhi, Dr. M.S. Ananth, Director, IIT, Madras and Prof. Surabhi Banerjee, Vice-chancellor, Central University of Orissa, Koraput.
